Exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops and art set in a jewel like sea of prairie planting. Living history from the Spirit of the West with a vast array of Native American artefacts and knowledge. Plant sales, workshops, tours and talks, tea room and cake in the splendour of the South Downs.

Fantastic textural gardens, particularly in September when the grasses are in flower. Visitors are encouraged to walk through the borders to excite the senses. Lovely knowledgeable staff willing to pass on gardening tips. RHS partner garden, but does not offer a concessionary entry fee for disabled visitors.

Off the beaten track but well worth the effort of finding this place. AMAZING huge displays of enormous, beautiful grasses and the sort of flowers that grow shoulder high and wave about in the wind. Great tearoom, spotless loos, regular events like theatre evenings or live music in a tent on the 8 acre site, just look at their website for what's planned. Family friendly, dog friendly, nice shop, sells garden gift stuff and the plants you boggle at here as smaller potted versions. Very sweet and helpful staff. Parking in adjacent field is a doddle.

Another lovely day spent at Sussex Prairie Gardens - we were there at this time last year. A very relaxing place to visit, tho preferably on a dry day.. We were there for the entire day & brought a picnic although the cafe sells good food & on the day we went there was a stall selling fresh veggie curry too.

We visit every year, sometimes more than once. This time was particularly busy, perhaps due to a coinciding bazaar. A bit too busy for us, and also, the pathways between plants were not as clear as we've previously seen. Maybe the weather, or not enough help in the garden? Always spectacular though. Hope it doesn't get busier and busier. Success has it's downside. Recommended.
